Carlos Lorenzana, innovation director of RIMSA, was elected president of the MAV Cluster at the General Assembly that the association held on Friday, June 16, as part of the VIII Strategic Immersion. Lorenzana replaces José A. Calero, R&D director of AMES, who has been president for the last four years.

In his first speech as president, Lorenzana set the goal of "continuing to increase an ecosystem of companies that are not afraid to learn." The new president pointed out that "one of the keys to the success of the MAV Cluster is that it is not a sectoral cluster", which should allow "to make known our transversality and ability to absorb challenges beyond".

Lorenzana emphasized the desire to continue with the line of starting innovation and collaboration projects and involving partners because this "is one of the strong points of the Cluster". "We don't compete, we collaborate, and this enriches the Cluster when it comes to generating and sharing ideas", he said.

For his part, Calero thanked the associates for their trust in the years of his presidency that "have not been easy", marked by the pandemic, but he affirmed that "we can be very proud" because "we have grown as a cluster and did things better than we thought, the results are very positive and the proof is this Immersion".

The rest of the board of directors of the MAV Cluster is made up of Maria Josep Riba (Lubrizol) and Xavier Marín (Dan*na) as vice-presidents, Joan Montobbio (Menzolit) as treasurer, Laia Soler (CELSA) as secretary and Jordi Reverter (ICN2), Mª Eugenia Rodríguez (Eurecat), Valerie Bergeron (Materfad), José A. Calero (AMES), Joseba Luna (Onyriq), Ma. Àngels Farré (PROMSA) and Tais Arp (Comindex) as vocalists.

The General Assembly also approved the accounts for the 2022 financial year and the budget for this year. Likewise, the year's activities project was presented, marked by the presentation of seven AEI projects that join the regional and European projects already under development.
