The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has approved the new call for support for Agrupacions Empresarials Innovadores (AEI) to finance projects that incorporate knowledge and technologies that promote the digital transformation of companies in the framework of activities industrial research, experimental development activities, organizational material innovation or process innovation.

The aid is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and aims to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies.

The call, which was published in the Official Gazette of the State (BOE) last April 15, has a total budget of 54 million euros, of which 46,440,000 are in charge of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism from the European Union and 7,560,000 euros from the General State Budgets 2023.

The AEIs have 20 working days to present the requests. The MAV Cluster, which was recognized with the AEI seal in July 2021, is finalizing the presentation of proposals with the collaboration of the companies that are part of the association.

THREE PROJECTS FUNDED IN THE PREVIOUS CALL

The previous call for grants made it possible to go ahead with three projects promoted by the MAV Cluster. These are three initiatives that fall within the field of innovation and digitization and in which up to six members of the association, four organizations from other AEI and two Catalan clusters have participated. The grants have subsidized 77% of the projects' overall budget, which amounts to 637,000 euros.

The three projects, which end this April, are Smart Battery Case, functionalization of materials for electromobility; Digital Spare Parts, digital transition towards the circular economy and self-management of spare parts through additive and hybrid manufacturing with by-products, and SUR3D, development of a biodegradable material with recycled corks for 3D printing.
