The MAV Cluster participates in the REVIA project, a strategic initiative aimed at developing cutting-edge technological solutions to improve the performance, safety, efficiency and sustainability of batteries intended for a second life in light electric vehicles.
The project, coordinated by the CIAC with the participation of the Digital Cluster, the Spanish Plastics Center and the MAV Cluster, integrates the capabilities of specialized technological SMEs (Leartiker, Rotimpres, Cadtech and Inèdit) around the real industrial use case of MillorBattery, a battery manufacturer that acts as a demonstration company. The project is part of the 2025 call for Grants to Innovative Business Groups (AEI) from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
On November 26, 2025, the members of the consortium met in person in Barcelona to celebrate the start of the project. During the meeting, the partners reviewed the technical objectives of the different work packages and defined the immediate milestones, especially regarding the definition of technical requirements, the development of new polymer materials for battery casings, the digitization of logistics processes and environmental and circularity assessment. This meeting marked the formal start of the collaborative work and allowed coordination of priorities and methodologies among all participants.
REVIA articulates three main lines of innovation:
The overall objective is to transform the second-life battery management model through new structural solutions, more efficient processes and a systematic incorporation of circularity criteria, in line with European energy efficiency and circular economy policies.
The project, which has a budget of €811,121, has a duration of eleven months (September 2025 – August 2026) and will culminate with the validation of the solutions in the MillorBattery industrial environment.
With its participation, the MAV Cluster reinforces its commitment to the development of advanced materials, the sustainability and competitiveness of the Catalan industrial fabric.
In Clúster MAV we work hard to offer a differentiated value proposition to our partners in accordance with our values: commitment, excellence, collaboration, involvement, quality and trust.
