On March 11, the MAV cluster organized the first 2025 meeting of the printed electronics working group at the ICMAB-CSIC facilities, in Cerdanyola del Vallès, a leading research center in the field of advanced materials.
The day began with a presentation by Alfonso del Rey, who emphasized the scientific and technological abilities of the ICMAB-CSIC in fields such as electronics, energy and biomedicine. With an annual budget of 21 million euros, more than half from competitive projects, the center stands out for its commitment to the search for excellence.
The participants also learned about two leading research groups:
E-Molmat (Molecular Materials for Electronic Devices), led by Marta Mas-Torrent, specializing in organic semiconductors, offers, little sensors and techniques such as the Assisted Meniscus Shearing bar.
Nanopto Group (Nanostructured Materials for Optoelectronics and Energy Harvesting), with Mariano Campoy-Quiles at the helm, who works in organic photovoltaica, 3D printing, and applications in energy and yacht.
The meeting included a collaborative dynamic that favored the exchange of ideas and the detection of key technological challenges such as functional inks, sustainable substrates, the escalation of processes and the integration of sensors in industrial environments. In addition, opportunities for joint projects and the creation of consortia for new calls were put on the table.
The regular meetings of the working group consolidate it as a strategic space to connect the world of research with the productive sector and promote the implantation of printed electronics in the industry.
You will find the materials of the session in the Resources section (exclusive members).
