NanoDAY is a multi-sector conference on the trends and successful cases of application of nanoscience and nanotechnology in Catalonia.
The NanoDAY conference, organized by the MAV Cluster, which is celebrated around the International Day of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (October 9), aims to show the latest trends, cases and experiences of application in Catalonia of the it is currently considered a key technology for industry in the 21st century.
The day will consist of three parts:
The session will be held in the Aula Magna Enric Casassas of the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry of the University of Barcelona and has the collaboration of IN²UB and the support of ACCIÓ.
Avanzare offers high-performance nanomaterials and solutions based on nanotechnology. They are specialized in the development, production and marketing of additives for different materials, mainly plastics and rubber, in different industries: automotive, aeronautics, safety equipment, footwear, paint, construction, wire and cable, fabrics, packaging and paper, among others. They have extensive experience in the field of functionalities such as anti-static, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, heat dissipation, flame retardant, antibacterial, etc.
Ecopol Tech is a company focused on the research, development and manufacture of advanced polymers with a special focus on colloidal science and nanotechnology of polyurethanes and polyureas. It focuses on complex and customized specialty polymers to optimize performance, applicability and customer requirements using green chemistry. In addition, he has extensive experience in the development of stability nano/microsystems through adjustable encapsulation for detergents, cosmetics and nanomedicine.
ColorSensing is a spin off of IN2UB that develops sensory applications based on color measurement. Its first product, FoodSensing, helps food manufacturers and retailers reduce food waste and ensure food safety by increasing profitability through an affordable digital food freshness indicator. They also develop digital tools and applications for color-based sensing in a variety of industries, including healthcare. They have a patented algorithm technology that allows correcting color distortion and obtaining normalized images for reliable color quantification.
Futurechromes is a spin off of ICN2 that develops new photochromic nanomaterials with fast response and more stability, for applications on transparent surfaces (photoprotective coatings in smart windows, photochromic glass, sports equipment, greenhouses, awnings) and printed patterns (illustrations and labels that change color, etc.). Its photochromic films can be adhered or integrated into commercial products by adapting its patented technologies to the requirements of each case.
Molecular Gate is a spin off of the ICMAB-CSIC that offers solutions to fight counterfeiting, especially in the healthcare sector. The security technology developed by the company allows to guarantee the authenticity of pharmaceutical products through the incorporation of multifunctional elements, through the printing of polarization-dependent dichroic micropatterns. This technology can be adapted to techniques such as digital printing by inkjet printing, to be used at an industrial level.
